SAILOR 5052 AIS-SART

The SAILOR 5052 AIS-SART is an enhanced manual deployment survivor location device intended for use on life-rafts or survival crafts.

Safety innovation

The SAILOR 5052 AIS-SART is a manually activated emergency beacon designed to assist in locating survivors in life rafts and other survival craft. Built in accordance with international maritime requirements, it utilizes AIS technology to provide improved performance and a considerably greater detection range than conventional radar SART devices.

Once activated, the unit continuously transmits its position to nearby AIS-equipped vessels at distances of up to approximately 5 nautical miles. Under favourable conditions, its signal can also be received by aircraft from distances exceeding 30 nautical miles. The extended transmission range increases the probability of a timely response and significantly improves the effectiveness of search and rescue operations.

Safety under stress

Designed for ease of use, the SAILOR 5052 AIS-SART is a compact and portable emergency locating device that can be installed on a bulkhead or kept within a survival craft for immediate access when needed. Its user-friendly configuration enables crew members to quickly identify and activate the unit, even under emergency conditions.

After activation, the device broadcasts essential distress information, including dedicated alert messages, accurate GPS coordinates, and its unique identification code. The AIS-SART is capable of transmitting continuously for at least six hours, while the integrated GPS receiver ensures precise position reporting, thereby improving the speed and effectiveness of search and rescue efforts.

Unique identification

The SAILOR 5052 AIS-SART improves search and rescue identification through its dedicated nine-digit identification number, which enables each device to be individually recognized and tracked, even in congested maritime areas with intense AIS activity and heavy vessel traffic.

Once the unit is activated, its location and direction are presented on a ship’s ECDIS or chart plotter as a red cross enclosed within a circle. This distinctive symbol immediately indicates the presence of survivors in a life raft or other survival craft, allowing rescue personnel to identify the distress situation quickly and coordinate a more effective response.

Trust SAILOR

Thousands of ships around the world depend on SAILOR safety equipment, including SARTs, EPIRBs, and communication systems, highlighting the brand’s long-standing reputation for reliability and compliance with GMDSS requirements.

In accordance with the regulations of most flag administrations, the SAILOR 5052 AIS-SART is approved as a replacement for the SAILOR SART II. The device is available either as an individual unit or as part of an integrated SAILOR 6000 GMDSS Series solution, which incorporates VHF and MF/HF radios, mini-C terminals, touchscreen control interfaces, and a wide selection of certified accessories designed to provide a complete maritime safety system.
